Our client is a boutique client-side project management consultancy who provide independent and professional services for property and infrastructure projects. They are looking for an enthusiastic
Project Manager
to join their innovative and client focused team to work. Experience working on industrial, warehouse & distribution centre building projects is desirable, as well as commercial and retail.

The candidate can come from the client side or head contractor side but will ideally have some experience working on the client or consultancy side.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects from front end scope development through construction to hand over, providing a high-quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Experience of managing projects from scope development to hand over
  • Ideally a proven track record in managing the design development as well as the up-front regulatory approvals
  • Experience on capital works upgrades as well as new build projects from $20m to $50m+, ideally in industrial or similar
  • Ideally experience of working for a client-side PM firm or a main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings
  • Develop documentation for the appointment of contractors through competitive tendering
  • Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
  • Be able to manage project expenditure and cash flow
  • Be able to interrogate construction programs
  • Be able to manage variations, EOTs, RFIs on the client/contractor side including authority approvals
  • Be able to manage defect identification and rectification
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • A positive and "can do" attitude and extremely high client serving standards are essential

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar
  • Minimum 3 to 7+ years' experience
  • Ideally experience of working for a client-side PM firm or a main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings
  • Ideally understanding of the Local and State planning systems and pathways, development applications.
  • Strong project financial reporting skills
  • Strategic thinker who can see the bigger picture
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working on construct only and design & construct contracts such as AS4000, AS4902, AS4300, AS2124, GC21 and PC1
