About the role

Bloom Gardens Melbourne is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing gardening and landscaping business.

Working directly with the owners, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of our services to our valued clients across Melbourne's inner East, Southeast, Bayside, Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas.

This is a full-time position, based in our Moorabbin office.

What you'll be doing

Put safety first, and embed OH&S practices at all times.

Work order planning, including on-time supply of labour, materials and equipment.

Daily schedule coordination to adjust for unplanned team absences and last minute client requests.

Lead our high performing team of gardeners and landscapers, respond to on-the-job requests for problem-solving, and support them to deliver jobs in real time.

Client relationship management on active jobs, including scope variations and escalations.

Warehouse management, keeping it organised and adequately stocked with products and materials.

Staff recruitment, performance management, annual performance reviews and team building.

Procurement and upkeep of vehicles, equipment and tools.

Co-create and embed standard operating systems and processes.

What we're looking for

Open and clear communicator.

Proven track record leading and motivating a team of field-based personnel.

Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.

Certificate III or higher in Horticulture, Landscape Construction, Landscape Design, or related field.

Proficient with Google Workspace and experience with scheduling/workforce/asset management software.

Minimum 5 years' experience leading field-based teams in gardening, landscaping, construction, or related industries.

Valid Australian driver's licence required (manual licence preferred).

Must have permanent right to work in Australia and be willing to undergo police background check.
