The Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified Floor Finisher, specializing in floor preparation and installation of hard flooring, including engineered timber and vinyl. Experienced floor installers are encouraged to apply. We require installers to work autonomously or as part of a team, with full-time positions available in Gold Coast, Queensland.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transport flooring materials from warehouse to installation sites, ensuring correct quantities as per project requirements.
  • Assess site conditions and identify potential health, safety, and flooring preparation risks.
  • Prepare floor surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying underlays or adhesives as required.
  • Measure floor areas against building plans and installation layouts to calculate material needs.
  • Cut, fit, and install flooring materials (e.g., timber, vinyl, or carpet), ensuring accurate joins, pattern matching, and trimming around fixtures.
  • Estimate and quantify costs related to floor preparation, repairs, and additional installation requirements.
  • Secure flooring materials using appropriate fixing methods and install edge trims.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, disposing of waste materials appropriately.
  • Complete job documentation, including installation reports, and provide updates to the Operations & Installation Manager.

ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in floor installation, including floor prep, timber, and vinyl.
  • Self-motivated and solutions-oriented.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Physically fit, healthy, and capable of performing manual tasks.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lead or train junior installers.
  • White Card and relevant skills certificates.
  • Valid driver's license.
