We are seeking a talented individual to join our Human Resources team at Marsh McLennan. This is a Melbourne-based role. This is a hybrid role requiring in-office work at least three days per week. The Senior HR Manager will support People Managers across all MMC businesses in the Pacific Region.
Senior HR Manager role description: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior HR Manager to support People Managers across all MMC businesses in the Pacific Region. The Senior HR Manager coaches, supports and advises People Managers, aiming to develop and enhance the quality of people management throughout the colleague lifecycle, and therefore have a direct and positive impact on the quality of the colleague experience across Marsh McLennan.
OverviewResponsibilities
- Advise and coach People Managers without oversight in most situations across the full range of activities in the HR portfolio including: employee relations, performance management, communications, change management, and organizational effectiveness
- Handle employee relations matters including investigations, performance improvement processes, disciplinary actions, grievances, and appeals, engaging with ER for advice on more complex issues
- Support performance management, including implementation of colleague training or mentoring programs and monitoring compliance where required
- Contribute to wellbeing and injury management, leave and absence topics, including coordinating with relevant teams for return-to-work accommodations and logistics
- Rollout and delivery of HR programs in-region and contribute to process improvements
- Confidence and experience to operate without regular supervision across the full breadth of HR activity, with the initiative to bring in specialist colleagues/experts as required
- Experience in supporting managers with complex employee relations case management including investigations and administration of hearings
- Demonstrated ability to coach People Managers at every level in the business, including senior executives, effectively through all aspects of the employee lifecycle with varying complexity
- Ability to identify opportunities to improve the service provided by People Services, and experience in leading work to define and implement changes that deliver a better service to People Managers
- Significant experience in a similar HR generalist role
- Proven experience working with leaders of all levels
- Passion for delivering change through working in partnership with others
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for staying up to date with HR and industry market trends and sharing knowledge with colleagues and the business
