The RoleSouthern River College is seeking a teacher for a permanent full-time position within the RISE program. There is capacity for this role to be 0.8 FTE to deliver flexibility. The RISE program re-engages and supports students through their senior years. The role will allow you to utilise your skills to positively impact the College community.
An information session for prospective applicants will be held on Wednesday 17 September 2025 at 4pm in the Library at Southern River College. The session will include the College Executive Team and RISE Program staff; attendees may ask questions about the program. As one of two teachers in the RISE program, you will engage a small group of senior students through their WA Certificate of Education (WACE) journey. Applicants with a broad generalist skill set are encouraged. The successful applicant will have the ability to teach Math Essentials, General English, and General Careers & Employability. A key outcome is to help students commence post-school career planning; you will be supported to attain and deliver a Certificate II in Workplace Skills qualification. The college has a committed VET team to support vocational and workplace learning outcomes.
Applicants should be able to apply trauma-informed practice for students in the RISE program. Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support frameworks will be well regarded, as will knowledge of Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE).

EligibilityTo work with us, you must:
- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
