Overview
We are seeking to establish a pool of Health and Physical Education Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to end of term 3, 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Yanchep Secondary College (SC) provides young people in the Yanchep area with a high quality, comprehensive education. The college enrols students from year 7 to year 12 and offers a broad, high-level curriculum including academic programs and vocational courses to inspire and challenge students. The school is part of the Metropolitan Teaching Program for hard to staff schools and teaching staff receive an additional allowance on top of normal conditions.
Responsibilities
- Support the Health and Physical Education (HPE) Learning Area team to strategically meet the learning needs of all students studying HPE curriculum.
- Work closely with all members of the HPE team to promote growth through professional conversations, coaching and peer observations.
- Contribute to a safe, student-centred learning environment aligned to the college’s whole school instructional model.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Explicit Direct Instruction, High Impact Teaching Strategies, strong behaviour management, differentiation, and the ability to cater for Students at Education Risk.
- Support the College’s School Improvement agenda with excellent communication and relationship-building across the college and wider community.
Qualifications and experience
- Qualified and registered teacher with eligibility to work in Western Australia.
- Ability to plan learning programs and deliver effective instruction in a Senior High School environment.
- Strong team player with a collaborative approach to professional growth, coaching, and peer feedback.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating and sustaining a safe, inclusive learning environment and active participation in school improvement initiatives.

Eligibility
To work with us, you must:
- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
