The Role
Southern River College is seeking a teacher for a permanent full-time teaching position within our RISE program. There is capacity for this teaching position to also be a 0.8 FTE role within the program in order to deliver some flexibility to applicants. The RISE program is designed to re-engage and support students as they progress through their senior school years. This is an exciting position within our College community that will allow you to utilize your skills and abilities to positively impact the College community.
An information session for prospective applicants will be held on Wednesday 17 September 2025 at 4pm in the Library at Southern River College.
The information session will allow you to hear from our College Executive Team, and RISE Program staff in regards to the program structure and goals. An opportunity for applicants to ask questions regarding the College and program will also be provided. Prospective applicants wishing to attend the information session should rsvp via email by Monday 15 September to Mrs Julie Hughes - .
As one of two teachers in the RISE program you will provide a critical role in engaging a small group of senior school students through their WACE journey. Applicants with a broad generalist skills set and experience are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will have the ability to teach Math Essentials, General English, and General Careers & Employability.
A key outcome of the program is to assist students to commence their post-school career planning and pathway. As such, you will be supported to attain and deliver a Certificate II in Workplace Skills qualification. Southern River College has a committed VET team who will support and assist you to deliver quality vocational and workplace learning outcomes for the students engaged in the RISE program.
Applicants will need the capacity to develop and apply their knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice for students engaged in the RISE program. Your prior experience and knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support frameworks will be well regarded and utilized within the program and broader College community. Applicants with knowledge of, or experience in the utilization of Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE) will be well regarded for this role.
