and to the delivery of health care or related services in line with our core values of collaboration, openness, respect, and empowerment.What You'll Be DoingPregnancy Family Meetings are a collaborative frontline program between Department of Communities & Justice Western Sydney Nepean /Blue Mountains District (DCJ) and Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) that uses family meetings to promote early engagement and interagency planning with pregnant women at risk of their babies entering out of home care at birth.The program is voluntary and offered to pregnant women who are linked in with DCJ who meet ROSH (Risk of Significant Harm) and who are also having their antenatal and birthing care through one of WSLHD's Hospitals.Pregnancy Family Meetings (PFMs) are facilitated by facilitators who are independent of case management responsibilities, decision making about infant care outcomes and any clinical involvement with the family.
This is critical to ensure the mother feels safe and comfortable.ResponsibilitiesThe Pregnancy Meeting Facilitator is a key facilitator position in the PFM Program.
The position reports to the Pregnancy Family Meeting Coordinator for WSLHD and is responsible for:Working directly with the family and agencies to schedule and then facilitate Pregnancy Family Meetings.
Supporting the PFM Coordinator to develop and maintain a group of appropriately skilled PFM Facilitators from within WSLHD.
Developing and fostering strong interagency partnerships to sustain and further develop the PFM Program How To ApplyApply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.Essential CriteriaRegistration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for Psychologists.
Evidence of Diversity claim if applicable (state which category): Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander background.
Selection CriteriaRelevant tertiary qualifications in social work or counselling and eligibility for membership of the relevant professional association; or relevant tertiary qualification in psychology and registration (AHPRA).
Experience in the delivery of health services to at risk and vulnerable children, young people and their families.
Understanding of child protection policy and practice and the needs of children and young people in out of home care, including the roles, responsibilities and functioning of health and human service agencies and non-government organisations involved in meeting these needs.
Understanding of Pregnancy Family Meetings with experience and /or the capacity evidenced by knowledge and skills to facilitate pregnancy family meetings.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other professionals both internally and with external partners and the ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively with senior executives, management, health staff, DCJ staff and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated high level written & verbal communication skills, including report writing skills and computer skills.
Current driver's licence valid in NSW and willingness to use for work purposes.
