The Project Officer Role
The Project Officer within the Infrastructure Development Group supports optical fibre construction projects and internal development initiatives.
The role provides administrative and project support to various teams, helping deliver the next-generation communications network for Australia's academic and research sectors.
With a personable manner and positive attitude, you will engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities include preparing contractor agreements, managing access notices, ordering and tracking equipment, and supporting project documentation.
This role offers opportunities to develop expertise across project support functions.
The Infrastructure Development Group aims to deliver quality network solutions that meet customer requirements and support AARNet's expanding fibre network, contributing to the development of critical infrastructure supporting research and education nationwide.
A flexible approach and a desire to develop new skills are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities

Supporting internal infrastructure teams in delivering fibre services, including maintaining project data systems and producing reports.
Managing procurement processes and tracking equipment and services.
Assisting with physical asset management, inventory, and logistics.
Supporting project planning and documentation efforts.
Providing administrative support such as organizing meetings, agendas, and reports.
Utilizing tools like Word, Excel, Visio, Jira, Confluence, and Zoom to support project tasks.
Identifying improvements in systems and processes proactively.

Qualifications and Experience

Australian resident.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage competing demands.
Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office programs.
Confidence working independently and professionally representing AARNet.
Experience in a similar role is a plus but enthusiasm is valued; training will be provided.
