The Opportunity Ashurst's Legal Governance Advisory team provides advice to Boards, senior executives and General Counsel on current and emerging legal, operational and reputational risks, including 'ESG' related issues such as climate-related risk disclosures, and cyber incident response.
Our team also provide detailed guidance and advice in relation to specialist governance matters such as annual and other periodic reporting, AGMs and other shareholder meetings, continuous disclosure, governance structures, directors' duties, legal and regulatory compliance, conflict matters, securities and insider trading issues, preparation of deeds of access, insurance and indemnity, executive remuneration, best practice principles and other corporate law and financial accountability matters.
We are now looking for a Lawyer or Senior Associate to join this growing practice to take the lead on key matters.
A full job description including a breakdown of responsibilities can be found attached to the role on our careers page About You Our ideal candidate will have: At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in corporate governance, corporate or other transactions or a demonstrable interest in governance matters such as ESG.
Solid analytical, drafting, writing and communication skills.
Familiarity with Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), and ASX Listing Rules and Corporate Governance Principles is beneficial but not essential.
A commercial approach and a strong desire to provide nuanced and practical solutions to complex problems.
Ability to work independently and with initiative but also thrives in a close-knit team environment.
Ability to manage time and prioritise matters effectively.
