Chief Legal Officer Job Description

The Chief Legal Officer will serve as the company's chief legal advisor, providing authoritative counsel to the Board, CEO, and senior leadership team. With responsibility for the legal, risk, and governance functions, the role will be central to major corporate initiatives, including complex commercial negotiations, project development, financing, and regulatory engagement.

  • Delivering strategic legal advice to the CEO and Board, ensuring alignment of legal frameworks with corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Leading the legal, risk, and governance functions, instilling a culture of excellence, accountability, and high performance.
  • Overseeing corporate governance as Company Secretary, ensuring best practice across Board and Committee operations.
  • Managing high-value transactions including offtake agreements, PPAs, EPC contracts, financings, and strategic partnerships.
  • Developing and executing risk management, compliance, and insurance strategies to protect the organisation's long-term interests.
  • Representing the business in engagements with regulators, government, and industry stakeholders.
