You will also ensure effective meeting processes, support governance excellence, and foster strong stakeholder relationships.
Responsibilities: Oversee critical corporate matters for the Chief Executive Officer and negotiate effective resolutions.
Address confidential and politically sensitive issues and represent the Office of the CEO in internal and external affairs as required.
Establish and lead highly sensitive projects and initiatives and be actively involved in organisational change projects.
Lead, develop and supervise the Office of the Chief Executive team.
Ensure information is provided to elected representatives in an effective and timely manner.
Coordinate and consolidate action items and follow-ups from Council Meetings, Executive Management Team Meetings, Audit and Risk Committee, and other sources.
Prepare and distribute agendas, minutes, and documentation for Council meetings and Councilor Briefing Sessions.
Ensure effective communication channels within the Office of the CEO and across council departments.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Councillors, staff, and external stakeholders.
Implement best practices in the administration of Council operations.
Monitor and manage the Office of the CEO budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Manage the development, implementation, and review of Council policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Relevant qualification in public administration, management, business administration or related field.
Ability to manage, mentor and train staff and positively contribute to team building.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational and coordination abilities.
Demonstrated capability in relationship building and stakeholder management.
Experience in council operations, governance, and administrative processes; previous Local Government experience is highly desirable.
Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
This full-time role offers a salary in the range of $115,977.00 – $129,689.00 (+ superannuation) along with attractive salary packaging options (including novated leasing).
