Take the Lead on High-Stakes, One-of-a-Kind Projects Join a Global Industry Leader with a Collaborative Culture About Our Client With decades of expertise in engineered transport and heavy lifting, this global organisation stands at the forefront of supporting some of the world's most complex industrial projects.
Serving critical sectors such as mining, marine, oil & gas, wind energy, and construction, the company provides innovative, large-scale solutions that move the world's heaviest and most challenging loads.
Operating in over 65 countries and across six continents, the business combines international scale with deep local knowledge to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective lifting and transport services.
Their portfolio includes some of the most technically demanding projects undertaken in recent years - from lifting massive modules in offshore environments to mobilising wind turbines in remote terrains and executing shutdown operations in the mining sector.
At the heart of the company's value proposition is a world-class fleet of specialised equipment: crawler cranes with lifting capacities exceeding 600 tonnes, self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs), gantry systems, strand jacks, lift-and-lock towers, and hydraulic jacking systems.
This cutting-edge machinery is complemented by an in-house engineering team that develops customised lift plans, transport simulations, and technical drawings tailored to the unique needs of each project.
Job Description As a Key Account Manager - Special Projects, you will take the lead on high-value, complex lifting and transport projects within the mining and resources sector.
Your role will span the entire sales lifecycle, from business development to project handover, ensuring tailored solutions that meet client needs.
Key responsibilities include: Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, acting as the main point of contact to understand their needs and deliver customised solutions.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead the sales process from bid generation to contract negotiation, and secure high-value projects.
Project Coordination: Oversee the entire sales cycle, collaborating with engineering, project managers, and technical teams to ensure projects are executed smoothly and within client expectations.
Forecasting & Reporting: Provide regular updates on sales forecasts, pipeline visibility, and project performance through CRM tools, ensuring accurate reporting for leadership.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver technical, operational, and commercial solutions, mentoring junior team members and fostering teamwork.
This role requires strong sales acumen, technical understanding, and the ability to manage complex projects under tight time lines.
You will play a pivotal role in driving growth, expanding client relationships, and delivering world-class engineered solutions.
The Successful Applicant Industry Expertise and Technical Knowledge: The ideal candidate will have significant experience in heavy lifting, engineered transport, and project-based sales.
They will be familiar with specialised equipment such as crawler cranes (above 600t), self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs), and gantry systems, with a strong understanding of the technical aspects of complex projects.
Proven Sales Success: With a background in securing and managing high-value projects, the successful candidate will be adept at driving new business, nurturing long-term client relationships, and navigating complex commercial negotiations.
They will have a strong commercial acumen, with a focus on achieving margin and revenue targets.
Strong Project Management Skills: The candidate will have experience overseeing the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and proposal preparation to final contract execution and project handover.
They will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
Results-Oriented with a "Driver" Mentality: The ideal candidate will be action-oriented and highly accountable, with a proven ability to drive growth and meet targets.
They will thrive in fast paced environments, demonstrating resourcefulness and composure when facing challenges.
Culturally Aligned with Team Values: The successful candidate will align with the company's close-knit, transparent, and low-politics culture.
They will be a team player, eager to collaborate and contribute to a positive, high-performance work environment.
Willingness to Travel: Given the nature of the role, the candidate will be comfortable with travel up to 20% to visit client sites, attend industry events, and oversee project progress.
What's on Offer Competitive Salary Package: Receive a strong base salary with performance incentives, plus tools of the trade, including vehicle allowance, laptop, and mobile phone.
Autonomy and Ownership: Enjoy the freedom to manage your accounts, drive growth, and shape project outcomes while supported by experienced engineering and project teams.
Career Growth and Development: Be part of an expanding division with real opportunities to progress your career, take on larger scopes, and grow your influence across the business.
