Intellectual Property - Senior Associate / Special Counsel Intellectual Property - Senior Associate / Special Counsel Collaborative team | High-quality client work | People-first culture Are you a strategic, commercially minded IP lawyer ready to take the next step in your career? We're seeking a talented Senior Associate with 5 years' post-admission experience to join our Intellectual Property team.
About the Role This is a permanent opportunity to work in a dynamic and well-established IP practice, advising on a wide range of intellectual property matters.
You'll work directly with a loyal and diverse client base, including SMEs, founders, creatives, and innovators, providing strategic advice across all areas of IP.
We are open to flexible work arrangements, including hybrid or part-time options, and we encourage applications from lawyers looking to shape their own path within a supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities You will: Advise on IP commercialisation, licensing, assignments, supply and distribution agreements Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements in M&A and commercial transactions Identify, protect, and enforce copyright, trade mark, design, patent and PBR rights Manage Australian trade mark applications and oppositions, and advise on global brand protection strategies Work with clients to develop and implement IP protection strategies across various sectors About You You'll bring: A minimum of 5 years' PAE, ideally with IP as a primary or significant focus Strong drafting and technical skills with attention to detail A proactive, commercial mindset with the ability to build rapport with clients Experience dealing with IP Australia and/or international IP offices A genuine interest in working closely with clients and contributing to their growth and success We're a values-driven firm known for our collaborative culture, open plan office, and people-first approach.
