Electronics Patent Attorney Role

We are seeking a talented Electronics Patent Attorney to join our team in Melbourne. As an Electronics Patent Attorney, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients to protect cutting-edge technologies.

In this role, you will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Australia and internationally. You will also prepare high-quality written and verbal IP advice in a timely manner, manage intellectual property portfolios for local and international clients, develop and execute IP strategies tailored to client needs, prepare and deliver IP-related articles and presentations internally and externally, participate in networking events, seminars, and business development activities.

About You

As a successful candidate, you will be a registered Australian or New Zealand patent attorney who is degree qualified (or higher) in electrical or electronics engineering, computer systems engineering, mechatronics engineering, information and communications technology (ICT), physics, quantum computing, software engineering, or a related technical field.

Additionally, you will possess 1-3 years post-registration experience as a Patent Attorney, expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in the above technical fields, experience managing IP portfolios and developing IP strategies for Australian and international applicants, a client-focused approach and ability to build strong professional relationships, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, exceptional technical knowledge, an eye for detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, advanced computer skills and database researching skills, highly organized and responsible with experience prioritizing and working to deadlines, a positive attitude with a collaborative and innovative mindset.
