
Event Partnership Officer – Major Events

What You Will Do: As the Events Partnership Officer, you will provide end-to-end management of a diverse sponsorship portfolio of major events under the guidance of the Program Leader – Major Events.
Your role will be crucial in ensuring these events not only succeed but deliver positive economic benefits and a strong return on investment for both Council and the local community.

What We Are Looking For: Tertiary qualifications in a related field, such as Events Management, Marketing or Tourism at a Bachelor Degree level.
Experience managing Funding or Partnership Agreements including the delivery of sponsorship benefits.
Well-founded understanding of the events industry, including technical and logistical aspects.
Robust understanding of event acquisition and development to drive value to the Cairns economy.
Demonstrated knowledge of event marketing practices, including via traditional media, digital media and social media.
Proven written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships and work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working with Smarty Grants or other grant and sponsorship management platforms.
