About the role
The Public Trustee offers independent, professional trustee and asset management services to the Western Australian community.
These include Will and Enduring Power of Attorney drafting, deceased estate administration, and personal trustee and administration services.

The Legal Services Directorate is accountable for the provision of Wills and Enduring Power of Attorney drafting service.
Additionally, the Directorate prepares applications for probate and provides advice or conducts litigation on matters on behalf of the Public Trustee.
The Managing Law Clerk supports the Principal Legal Officer and team in undertaking paralegal and administrative work, requiring management of matters that may be complex and/or sensitive in nature.
Paralegal assistance extends to drafting legal documents for review by Legal Officers and providing assistance and advice to clients that is factual and legal by nature.
Eligibility
Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

The Managing Law Clerk position is responsible for the effective management of both legal administrative staff and the Wills Reception Desk for the Public Trustee.
Please provide a comprehensive response demonstrating where you have had to effectively manage conflict within a team from a supervisory perspective.
This response should be structured using the STAR method, addressing the job related requirements, Exemplifies Personal Integrity and Self-Awareness, Shapes and Manages Strategy, and Builds Productive Relationships.
The Managing Law Clerk is responsible for completing applications for grants of Probate/Letters of Administration in the non-contentious jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
Please outline and demonstrate your experience or understanding of completing these applications within your previous roles addressing the role specific criteria Substantial relevant experience or relevant qualification.
The Managing Law Clerk is responsible for preparing Landgate documents.
Please outline and demonstrate your experience or understanding of Landgate documents and procedures, inclusive of an example using the STAR method addressing the job related requirement Achieves Results.
