About The Services Centrecare's Men's Behaviour Change (MBC) provides services for men over 17 years of age, who have used domestic violence in their intimate relationship and wish to address their use of violence and destructive patterns in their lives and relationships.
About The Role We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Group Facilitator to work directly with men who perpetrate family and domestic violence.
In this outreach-based role, you will prioritise the safety and wellbeing of women and children affected by abuse, while supporting men to recognise and take responsibility for their behaviour.
As a Group Facilitator, your primary focus will be to engage men in Men's Behaviour Change (MBC) programs.
You will use a range of innovative and culturally appropriate strategies to encourage participation, build motivation for change, and promote accountability.
This includes both one-to-one engagement and co-facilitation of group sessions, as well as participation in community activities designed to build trust and connection.
A Few Specifics Initiate engagement with men who use violence through phone, online, and face-to-face outreach.
Provide individual support and referral pathways to services addressing contributing issues such as mental health and substance use.
Co-facilitate Men's Behaviour Change and Protective Behaviours groups.
Engage with young people through group programs held at local youth facilities in Leonora and Laverton.
Participate in community activities such as barbecues and Men's Bush Trips to build rapport and foster positive relationships.
Conduct risk assessments and contribute to safety planning, always prioritising the safety of women and children.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to ongoing case reviews and program evaluation.
About You Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or other related disciplines.
Be able to work Mondays in the Kalgoorlie branch and then Tuesdays to Friday in the Northern Goldfields (Leonora and Laverton).
Previous experience in family domestic violence service and or willingness to be trained in Men's Behaviour Change services.
Experience working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, understanding of culture.
Demonstrated experience in intake, assessment and case management Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
Demonstrated ability to deliver and evaluate personal and relationship education programs relevant to children.
The ability to work autonomously Possess a current Working with Children Check, National Police Clearance and C class drivers license.
