The Role

As a Counsellor, you will work under the Integrated Primary Mental Health Care model, focusing on delivering high-quality mental health and therapy services for disadvantaged individuals in the Goldfields region.

  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments to inform case plans or referrals based on client needs.
  • Assess supports and ensure they meet clients' needs.
  • Refer and assist clients in accessing specialist services and support groups.
  • Respond appropriately to clients in crisis.
  • Facilitate groups as required.
Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Providing short-term therapy to individuals, couples and families.
  • Working with children and families with complex needs.
  • Intake and assessment processes.
  • Early intervention and prevention program services.
Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A recognised tertiary level qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, Counselling, Childhood Development or related disciplines.
  • Provisional/registered Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, or Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA.
  • Social Worker eligibility for ASWA registration.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable populations.
  • Highly developed clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Strong professional boundaries.
  • WA Driver's licence.
  • National Police Clearance (12-month validity).
  • Working With Children Check or eligibility to apply.
