About the Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide high level advice and support to senior officers of the Division and other senior officers within the department on policy and strategy relating to state schools.
  • Lead and manage productive education networks and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with team members, Regional Offices, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute, as a member of the senior management team, to setting the strategic direction for the branch and ensuring the effectiveness of policies, standards and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of the activities and work practices within the functional area of the position to ensure alignment with changing corporate goals.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • For this position, it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.
