Service Experience is a newly created directorate, tasked with transforming support services by redesigning and continuously improving how support services are delivered to schools.

Our ambition is to design and deliver simple and seamless services with the needs of our schools at its heart.


The Department is looking to Service Experience as the trailblazers, carving the way in innovation and transformation by reimagining and re-designing the way support services are currently delivered.


About the role
The School Engagement Partner plays a key role in the School Engagement team.

In line with the Service Experience directorate commitments, we're listening to the voice of school colleagues, understanding their needs, and co-designing solutions to create and deliver support services that meet school needs.

By making services effortless, we are empowering schools to focus on what they do best - deliver learning outcomes for every student.


The School Engagement Partner is responsible for liaising with key stakeholders to continuously improve how we deliver services to our schools: teachers, principals, school administrative and support staff, as well as education support staff.


This includes working collaboratively with the team to proactively identify engagement opportunities with our key stakeholders, ensuring the needs of our school colleagues are aligned with our education support staff.

These engagements include guided learning sessions, school visits, network meetings and conferences.


The School Engagement Partner will collaborate closely with all stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement in the services that we provide.

This includes reviewing and maintaining work processes, collecting and delivering insights to facilitate service delivery planning and decision making, as well as, recommending opportunities for engagement.

You will be joining a collegial and collaborative team and will bring strong communication and stakeholder management capability and energy to the team.

The ability to develop and nurture positive relationships is essential in this role.


You have excellent attention to detail and self-motivation, bringing a variety of resources and stakeholders together around a shared purpose to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.


You will be comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and are able to pivot and demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities, always maintaining a customer-centric lens.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with customers and/ or stakeholders to improve service outcomes
  • Some project experience would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
  • This role may be required to occasionally travel across NSW
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
