The DPV Health Community Engagement Committee is an advisory committee, established by the DPV Health Board in 2019.

The committee aims to inform, recommend, and advise the DPV Health Board of Governance on matters related to community engagement and participation, fostering strategic alliances, community partnerships and organisational reputation.


As part of DPV Health's commitment to ensuring the feedback and insights from people with lived and living experience is embedded in all aspects of our work, DPV Health are seeking to engage up to three (3) new external community members to join the Community Engagement Committee in an advisory capacity.

These roles create an opportunity for community members to provide direction and representational participation in governance mechanisms within DPV Health.

As a Consumer Representative, you will be required to attend quarterly 2-hour meetings and potentially, occasional ad hoc requests. This engagement is for a 2-year term and a sitting fee will apply.

  • Community participation in service design, planning, delivery, evaluation, and governance
  • Engagement with diverse communities
  • Strategic alliances and partnerships
  • Reputation as a primary care service provider, and
  • Client experience and satisfaction.

Desired Skills and Experience:

In line with DPV Health's Inclusion Strategy, it is highly desirable that community members fulfilling these roles will have lived or living experience in one or more of the below priority areas:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Culturally and linguistically diverse people
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) community members
  • People with disability, or
  • Gender equity / diversity
