Key Responsibilities:
- Provide central contact for and highquality business advice and support on a range of financial, human resource, IT, information management, planning and reporting, and other administrative issues to the management and staff in regions.
- Supervise the administrative team within the Office of the Regional Director and provide training, assistance, support and mentoring to administrative staff.
- Ensure compliance with relevant human resource, financial management and other standards, policies and legislation relevant to the operations of the department.
- Develop, implement, maintain and review comprehensive systems of administrative, financial and human resource management practices and procedures for the Regional Director's office.
- Develop and maintain management information systems and records management systems to provide relevant information and statistics to the regions.
- Coordinate the supply and payment of all goods and services required by the regions in accordance with current legislative and departmental accounting practices.
- Actively work to ensure that the work environment is accountable and equitable by implementing current departmental management standards and policies: including performance management; equal employment opportunities; antidiscrimination; and workplace health and safety.
- Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a team in delivering support and services to clients.
- Allocate, prioritise and perform tasks in accordance with departmental procedures and financial and administrative delegations.
- Participate as a member of the youth justice service centre management team and contribute to strategic and operational planning, reviews and key decisionmaking.
Role requirements:
- You understand the impacts of historical and contemporary policy and practices upon Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. You have a demonstrated ability to engage and communicate with humility and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Citizenship/visa: to be appointed to a position, you must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in benefits which may include financial incentives, subsidised accommodation, and additional leave
- Successful applicants who are either a current or previous public sector employee will be required to disclose previous serious disciplinary action taken against them.
- Newly appointed public service employees are obliged, within one month of starting duty, to make a disclosure of any employment as a lobbyist in the previous two years.
- Disclosure of preexiting condition: upon written request, an applicant is to disclose prior to their engagement any preexisting illness or injury that could impact their ability to perform duties of the role or has potential to aggravate a preexisting illness or injury.
