Team Leaders ensure the proper conduct of events and uphold the Integrity Framework, whilst supporting the Assistant Directors and State Managers in the day-to-day management and delivery of projects relating to the conduct of the event.

The Team Leader works across a diverse and dispersed network, working closely with our State Office, National Office and the other States and Territories.


This APS6 level role is being offered on an initial 5 month contract until 24 Dec 2023 with view to extension.

Description

  • The Team Leader is responsible for the leadership and management of staff within their designated team/office and delivering a public facing service as required.
  • You report to an Assistant Director based in the Adelaide CBD and will typically oversee a team consisting of 2 to 10 staff, however, when an event is announced, this team size increases rapidly to deliver this significant logístical event, which involves managing high risk and largescale projects with increased pressure, media, public scrutiny and short timeframes, and multiple interdependent logístical activities.
  • Manage the daily operations of the divisional work unit, including leading, managing, and developing a team of staff to deliver project management of event tasks and activities.
  • The successful applicant will join the leadership team committed to learning and selfdevelopment and responsible for building technical capability and fostering the career development of its people.
  • You will be responsible for the use of operational delivery plans, reports, and statistical analysis to ensure the delivery of a successful event.
  • You will contribute to the development of team objectives for short term tasks and strategic planning for longerterm initiatives, including setting priorities for the work area, maintaining team cohesion, and ensuring quality of outputs for the work area
  • During the event delivery phase, local workforce responsibilities increase, and Team Leaders are responsible for the overall supervision of temporary staff. Using leadership skills to support the expanding workforce requirements seamlessly and efficiently.

Profile

  • The client is seeking agile, energetic, selfmotivated, and resultsdriven professionals to lead and manage divisional event planning, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Ideally, the successful applicant is a selfstarter able to work under pressure, and independently under limited guidance but in accordance with strict processes, and comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Experience in the administration of major logístical events or managing operations in a highly regulated environment, with demonstrated ability to persist with, and focus on achieving objectives.
  • The ability to lead and manage a team of staff, demonstrating agile leadership in exercising high level decision making and judgement through a riskbased approach.
  • Ability to remain positive and respond to pressure in a calm manner, while committing energy and drive to see that goals are achieved.
  • A sound understanding of business planning and project delivery, with highly developed written skills.
  • Confidence and ability to effectively communicate, collaborate and negotiate with team members, business areas and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and a strong commitment to working harmoniously within a team to achieve positive results and support the strategic direction.
