Job description:

Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an APS6 Service/UX Designer to join the team within a Federal Government Agency based in the Adelaide CBD.

This is a growing office with a professional and supportive culture focused on supporting students.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and coordinating the development, implementation and evaluation of service improvements and solution design projects
  • Delivering design solutions that strike the right balance between the big picture and crucial details
  • Utilising a wide range of standard service design methods (e.g., storyboards, process flows, service blueprints and user journey maps etc.) and creatively adapting them to different contexts you encounter
  • Creating wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that effectively communicate design concepts and solutions
  • Conducting design workshops, presentations and user research to communicate design concepts and gather feedback from stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with crossfunctional teams including developers, product managers, and stakeholders
  • Undertaking user acceptance testing to support upgrades and implementation, as required
  • Participating in a multidisciplinary team and contributing to deliverables to support the objectives of the team
  • Contributing to the implementation of office wide ICT projects
  • Providing support to team members, development and test teams, from a UX/UI perspective
  • Providing backup support to other team members if needed during peak times.
  • Qualifications and/or extensive experience in usercentric and service design
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma or similar software to create wireframes, prototypes and visual designs
  • Demonstrated skills in service/customer journey mapping, blueprinting and business process analysis
  • Experience conducting qualitative user research and leveraging data to measure the efficacy of system and process designs
  • Proven ability to deliver project and operational deliverables within deadlines while managing multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated analytical and problemsolving skills including the resolution of issues by zooming out to see the big picture and diving in to deliver important details
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and articulate concepts to both technical and nontechnical staff to achieve results
  • Proven team player who can work effectively in an agile environment while being proactive and selfmotivated.
This role is at the APS6 level equivalent offering $56.18 per hour + 11% super. The rate of pay is casually loaded, as you will not be accruing annual or sick leave.
