Willach is a long-standing family-owned enterprise established in 1889 in Germany. Our products are engineered and manufactured at our production facility in Ruppichteroth, near Cologne.

We expanded into the Australian market in 2004 and established our Melbourne office.

Why we need a Business Development Manager

Our current Head of Client Services is gearing up for retirement after an 11-year tenure, generously offering ample notice to facilitate the seamless transition to a suitable successor.

The good news for you is that he'll be around for a few months to ensure your smooth onboarding process.

While the position holds the title of Head of Client Services, we've opted to advertise it as a BDM because the role encompasses elements of consultative sales.

Who's the perfect fit for this role?

It's a given that you possess extensive experience in sales or business development.

You possess an innate ability to connect with individuals effortlessly, whether it's the CEO or the janitor, and excel at establishing rapport. Your capacity to cultivate and sustain relationships, coupled with your reputation for being firm but fair, has contributed to maintaining high team spirits.

You aren't merely target-driven; you are fixated on meeting objectives. This commitment extends to your personal life and professional endeavors, where 'trying' isn't an option - it's all about action.

You relish problem-solving. By actively listening to grasp the core issues faced by your clients, you derive satisfaction from identifying solutions. Your skill in connecting the dots uniquely and facilitating your clients' progress energizes you.

You possess a strategic outlook, considering the wider implications of your actions on successful sales outcomes or solution delivery. Collaborating effectively with team members fulfilling distinct roles comes naturally to you.

You thrive on organization and excel at managing your time to meet deadlines efficiently.

You're akin to a versatile Swiss army knife rather than a standard cog in the machine. Taking ownership of end-to-end processes and gaining insights into the entire business appeals to you more than operating in isolation.

You boast experience in the pharmaceutical sector and/or possess familiarity with pharmacy workflows and industry-specific challenges.

About the role

You'll oversee sales operations for both South Australia and Queensland.

In close collaboration with the MD and with the backing of the design and delivery teams, your duties will involve meeting sales targets and ensuring client satisfaction levels are maintained.

You'll lead a small team of 2-3 individuals reporting to you.

Essentially, the Business Development Manager will be entrusted with:

  • Building and nurturing client relationships
  • Formulating proposals, presenting solutions, and closing deals
  • Achieving personal sales targets and overseeing your team's performance
  • Coordinating with the design and delivery teams to ensure project progression

While the sales strategy is effective, part of your role will entail suggesting enhancements or modifications based on outcomes observed.

While our headquarters is situated in Burwood, this role is open to remote work for individuals based in QLD or SA.

A week in the life

A standard workweek for you may involve:

  • Engaging in phone and virtual meetings with existing clients to review progress or explore enhancements to their current solutions
  • Visiting prospective clients at their pharmacies to discuss products in person
  • Consulting with new clients to comprehend their present challenges and collaborating with the design team on suitable solutions
  • Drafting proposals and presenting them to prospective clients to secure agreements
  • Coordinating with the design and delivery teams on the status of ongoing projects
  • Reporting on activities and outcomes, and debriefing with the MD
