The External Communications Leader will bring an innovative and creative mindset to ensure our communications cut-through and engage our key audiences.

They will understand the changing landscape of external communications and provide strategic advice on how to build and execute the external communications strategy, including:

  • Leading a small external communications team to create and deliver quality external communications that support business strategy.
  • Working with the Group Executive Leadership team to deliver impactful external communications.
  • Partnering with the broader team and external consultants to advise on and manage a content programme of thought leadership, insights and news profiling leaders and expertise to support our public relations and media efforts in market.
  • Partner with Senior Advisor Employer Brand and People teams to design and deliver engaging external strategies and communications to position Aurecon as an employer of choice.
  • Leveraging Aurecon's owned and earned digital channels to engage key audiences and ensure we remain competitive.

As well as experience in a similar role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing and Communications, Journalism, Corporate Affairs, or related area
  • Extensive experience in Corporate Communications
  • Excellent written, personal, and digital communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of audiences in a range of styles.
  • Track record in developing and executing communications programmes in the digital age.
  • Agility in straddling strategy, planning and execution, with handson operational responsibilities.
  • Able to assess where and how to communicate and how to evaluate the results of their work.
