This is achieved through Sunday Worship Services, Community Support and Emergency Relief, Thrift Shop engagement, and small groups.

About the role


We are seeking a values-driven Worship Arts Coordinator - Community Engagement who will strengthen leadership capability in worship arts through targeted facilitation of innovative and strengths-based initiatives that support local mission delivery within an assigned region.

You will successfully

  • Strengthen leadership capability in worship arts and strengthen communication between the frontline and national worship team
  • Promote a healthy worship culture that is aligned with the vision of The Salvation Army
  • Engage with frontline leaders to communicate and contribute to Territorial strategy and frameworks
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Divisional Leadership, Area Officers other relevant TSA personnel and build relevant networks that support best practice and consistent worship ministry
  • Remain up to date with current research and evidence informed best practice in worship and community arts and understand the current and emerging needs for worship ministry in assigned region
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the national strategy for worship arts ministry and community engagement
  • Collaborate with peer roles across the mission department to identify and promote appropriate ministry opportunities and ensure consistency of practice and resourcing across the assigned region
  • Facilitate innovative and strengthsbased initiatives that support local mission delivery and identify and share nationally focused hot spots of innovative mission expression
You will have

  • Qualifications in creative arts or equivalent experience in creative industries such as music, visual and/or dramatic arts
  • Proven leadership, training, teaching and/or coaching experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in worship or creative arts ministry
  • A National Police Record Check
  • A Working with Children Check (for Child Facing roles)
  • QLD Drivers Licence and a willingness to travel across the assigned region and interstate as required
