Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before.
This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care.

To help address this, the Health Capital Division (HCD), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.

The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds in the next five years.

In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments.
Working in HCD, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders– what could be more rewarding than that?
The role

Reporting to the Executive Director, Operations, this key role assumes overall responsibility and accountability for the HCD governance, risk and compliance functions for all aspects of major capital programs.

You will lead several key functions which consists of leading a multidisciplinary team to oversee governance, risk and compliance in line with Government requirements, and leading a team setting the guidelines for achievement of sound governance and accountability for all aspects of project, program and portfolio outcomes.

The successful person

The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience in governance, risk and compliance functions, and a commitment to developing a high performing team.

You will have demonstrated skills in leading best practice Government administration for projects/initiatives, demonstrated broad knowledge of driving process improvements and enhancing accountability, and strategic agility.

The Senior Director Governance, Risk and Compliance will additionally have a good track record linking outcomes to vision and purpose, supported by good organisational agility and decision-making skills.
