About the Role

Cura Day Hospitals Group is seeking an experienced and innovative National Clinical Governance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Executive team, you will play a vital role in leading and supporting service-wide developments and creating a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the effectiveness and application of a National Clinical Governance framework at Cura Day Hospitals Group.
  • Model the safety and quality values of Cura Day Hospitals Group in all aspects of management.
  • Ensure accreditation status for all Cura Day Hospitals Group facilities.
  • Provide clinical advice, mentoring, support, and governance to Cura Day Hospitals Group workforce and clinicians.
  • Ensure and maintain an operational policy and procedure framework that promotes patient safety and reduces risk.
  • Develop and review all policies related to Clinical Governance.
  • Oversee the Hospital-wide Audit program and track closure of recommendations.
  • Manage the clinical governance agenda in the further development of robust systems and processes throughout the organisation in relation to clinical governance and quality, encompassing risk management, patient experience, clinical audit and clinical effectiveness programmes.
  • Respond to patient safety concerns that have been identified, including through morbidity and mortality meetings.
  • Support the development of business plans, strategic plans, quality plans that are relevant to safety and quality.
  • Ensure effective systems for management of credentialing and defining scope of clinical practice, clinical and safety and quality education and training.
  • Review, analyse and monitor actions arising from clinical outcome data and quality performance measures; act on opportunities for improvement and provide feedback to clinicians on actions taken to reduce identified patient safety risks and quality improvement.
  • Ensure partnering with Consumers and Patient Centred Care is pivotal in all processes and change management activities.
  • Produce monthly reports on quality, safety and performance KPIs.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis according to incidents and feedback.
Selection Criteria
  • Extensive experience within the health industry.
  • Leadership experience at executive level in the strategic planning, development, implementation and monitoring of quality and risk management systems.
  • Clinical background.
  • Knowledge of Performance Improvement principles and practices.
  • Accreditation requirements, relevant legislation, Australian Standards and certification processes.
  • Understanding of and experience in applying customer-focused processes and quality management principles within a continuous improvement methodology.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Risk Management principles, processes, standards and requirements applicable to the healthcare setting.
  • Ability to manage, lead, and coach in conjunction with facility/clinic personnel, to embed a commitment to achieve the highest standards of performance.
  • Knowledge of NSQHS "National Standards", ISO and accreditation.
  • Knowledge of current infection control practices (Supported by STEAM).
  • Demonstrated strong people management and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to deliver objectives within deadlines.
  • Knowledge of RCA methodology.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office Software.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Management Business or Health Science (or relevant industry experience).
  • Experience in the development and delivery of training programs.
  • Previous experience in a similar role at senior level.
  • Experience in Risk Management.
