Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Oversee Legislative Compliance: Develop and implement a risk-based approach to enforcement activities, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Provide Strategic Advice: Offer high-level strategic advice to the General Manager on key enterprise risks, including stakeholder engagement, compliance, and complex statutory interpretation.
  • Review and Rectify Complex Decisions: Review and rectify complex, historical administrative decisions, embedding enhanced policies and regulatory capabilities.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on optimising stakeholder experiences and enhancing service delivery.
Requirements
  • Proven Expertise: Proven expertise in interpreting and applying legislation, along with the ability to provide high-level strategic advice.
  • Significant Leadership Experience: Significant leadership experience, especially in collaboration with executive teams to drive organisational improvements.
  • Track Record of Success: A track record of building and leading high-performing teams, supporting change initiatives, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence, persuade, and clearly articulate complex ideas.
  • Strong Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder and customer service management skills, with a focus on building productive relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Admission or Eligibility: Admission or eligibility for admission as a solicitor or barrister in Queensland, with at least five years of post-admission legal experience.
  • Regulatory Experience: Experience leading regulatory and enforcement functions is highly regarded.
