How will I help?We have an exciting opportunity for a Db2 for z OS DBA to join Westpac's Mainframe Infrastructure Services team within Group Technology.

This person will be responsible for supporting Westpac's complex mainframe environment within their technical expertise.

This role plays an important part in the development and maintenance of technical solutions within Mainframe and ensures that the detailed design and operations are fit for purpose.

Further, this position is open to interstate candidates as well.

You will be involved in the following responsibilities: Accountable for stability and high availability for the bank's Db2 for z OS databases.

Accountable for Db2 for z OS services including technical validation of implementations and proposed database changes Accountable for leading and advising on Db2 for z OS toolsets including technical validation of implementations and proposed configurations.

Accountable for leading and supporting evaluation of technical changes, and assessment of root-cause-analyses and corrective actions.

Provide expert domain technical input in the requirement review and ensure adequate support for requirement review against current and planned Db2 for z OS environment in collaboration with other team members Keeping focus on Db2 for z OS operational priorities, engage with colleagues to jointly review service requests, assesses, and evaluates complex incidents and problems and lead the diagnosis and resolution of complex technical issues on day-to-day basis.

Provides DBA support for client applications, this includes but is not limited to: Advice, consultancy, troubleshooting and recommendations on technical and support issues.

Helpdesk.
Capacity planning.
Performance tuning.
Critical event monitoring.
Database backups, recoveries (local and DR) and refreshes.
Document, test and implement database schema changes.
