ABOUT THE ROLE
The Contract Manager is responsible for supporting the management of contracts entered directly by the Project team, including pre-award and post-award contract administration, management, and close-out. The role is pivotal to driving business growth, ensuring profitability, and identifying opportunities for revenue generation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to a small team of contract administrators dedicated to the Major Projects division.
  • Identify and actively pursue all claims under the Head Contract(s) to maximise Project profitability, ensuring minimum notice requirements are met and claims are prepared with full evidence to logically support the claim.
  • Ensuring contracts/commercial registers of all correspondence and claims is standardized, kept up to date and in order to form part of the Project monthly reporting.
  • Manage department requests for subcontract, negotiations, clarifications, execution, and post award subcontract administration.
  • Ensuring contracts team and internal stakeholders comply with best industry best practices, standards, and procedures in respect to contracts, commercial and procurement.
  • Support Project procurement strategies specific to the Major Projects department and be the trusted advisor regarding day-to-day contractual matters.
  • Working across the end-to-end procurement process, driving procurement outcomes, and competitive sourcing for Major projects.
  • Manage customer interface and be the primary contact during Project execution for all contract related matters.
  • Liaise with Project Controls for updates on budgets, variations, forecasts, and schedules.
  • Develop & maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders, including client representatives.
  • Escalate risk and potential disputes in accordance with Commercial framework.
  • Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units.
  • Exemplify and encourage the core values of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Qualification in law, commerce, business, construction management or related areas.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in contract administration with projects/EPC/EPCM experience preferred.
  • Post-graduate qualification in contract law is advantageous.
  • AICS/ RICS certification or being undertaken is beneficial.
