Rio Tinto is seeking a highly skilled Contract Management Specialist to join our Planning team in Perth. As a key member of our Resource Development team, you will play a critical role in supporting and strengthening contract partnerships, collaborating to develop longer-term strategies, and driving efficiencies through simplification and uplift overall contract performance.
Key Responsibilities- Contract Management: Proactively manage medium to high-risk contracts covering a range of services, including drilling, pad construction, rehabilitation, geophysics logging, and test pumping for Resource Development.
- Supplier/Contract Partner Management: Positively communicate the Resource Development vision and build strong and successful working relationships internally within Rio Tinto and externally with Suppliers and Contract Partners.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement contract management strategies, policies, and guidelines to drive shared goals and objectives, and contribute to the annual planning cycles, including contract management data inputs and strategies.
- Leadership and Collaboration: Lead and support process improvement projects and change management to embed and sustain new ways of working, and collaborate with Rio Tinto Procurement on overarching sourcing and contract strategies.
- Expertise and Advice: Provide expert contract management advice to planning, operational, and technical teams, including regular visits to the Pilbara, and participate in risk management, process compliance, audits, and contract-related investigations.
- Education and Experience: Achieved tertiary qualifications in Contracts, Procurement & Supply Chain, or similar, and a minimum of 5 years' work experience post-education.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong communication, engagement, and influencing skills across multiple stakeholder groups, ability to build highly collaborative relationships with Suppliers/Contract Partners, and a strong desire and willingness to challenge the status quo and find creative ways to solve problems.
