- Geelong Location - Hybrid (minimum 3 days in the Geelong office is required)
About the role
The Legislation Policy and Information Service (LPIS) Division coordinates and maintains the OHS and accident compensation laws administered by WorkSafe, provides strategic policy advice, contributes to National forums and develops statutory and non-statutory guidance.
The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in providing critical and timely administrative support to the Director, Legislation, Policy and Information Services (LPIS) and wider division to meet its objectives. The Administrative Assistant will also enjoy the opportunity to make a real impact within our dynamic culture.
Key accountabilities include:
- Coordinating and providing high level confidential administrative support to the LPIS Director and management team
- Administrating a broad range of processes and procedures to support the Division's activities, particularly to support WorkSafe's participation in national forums, committees and, stakeholder meetings
- Supporting the LPIS Director and management team in the preparation of reports and briefing notes
- Identifying opportunities, make recommendations and implement improvements to processes, systems and work practices
- Creating and capturing accurate and complete records of the business activities related to this position, in accordance with approved policy and procedures

About you
You are an experienced administrative professional with a passion for providing high level support to your key stakeholders. You will have strong organisational and time management skills and will be a proactive self-starter who is approachable whilst also displaying a high level of discretion to sensitive information.
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in high level administration and strong coordination and planning skills
- Experience in preparation of agendas, minutes, reports and presentations/ organising functions or team events/ diary management
- Demonstrated initiative, tact and judgement in liaising with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
- You will be able to interpret, communicate and provide advice on administrative policies and procedures, to identify trends and anomalies, and resolve administrative issues
- Proven ability to work with limited supervision and meet tight deadlines
- Intermediate/advanced computer skills in Word, Excel & PowerPoint
