The Events Specialist plays a fundamental role in the Events and Experience team in the planning, development and execution of events across the year, with a strong focus placed on the in-store experience for customers.


Reporting into the Senior Manager (Retail and Experience Marketing) you will drive success through the execution of events and in-store brand experiences, predominantly within our flagship stores but also in the wider store network.

Each event will be consistent with our overall marketing and brand strategy, driving a commercial outcome, be it foot traffic, engagement or sales while delivering a customer experience like no other.


We are looking for experienced and commercial Events professionals who are ambitious and self-motivated to produce world class, seamless instore experiences for our customers.

What does the role involve?

  • Contribute to the creative execution of largescale event campaigns, as well as consumer experiences instore and occasionally offsite. This includes incorporating the approved creative concepts and in engaging collateral across invitations, brand signage, experiential treatments, eDM's and other marketing related elements
  • Contribute to event plans and lead the production and logístical implementation of approved experiences in accordance with national event strategies for David Jones
  • Drive the 'alwayson' eventing strategy for the Flagship stores, ensuring to the stores are positioned as the true Flagships of David Jones
  • Keep abreast of global brand activations with a focus on fashion, ensuring delivery of events are reflective of world's best practice
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders and partner cross functionally with store teams including store managers and visual merchandising to ensure smooth implementation and successful outcomes of all events
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of all events and partnerships in terms of sales return, traffic and visitation, social impressions, consumer engagement, premium brand positioning, and customer response

Who are we looking for?

  • A selfstarter with the ability to work independently and be empowered in decision making to drive outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience in production and logístical implementation of events and promotions
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously, agency experience highly desirable
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and budgeting skills
  • Tertiary educated within Marketing / Events or related disciplines is highly regarded
