About the program

The Australia Awards South Asia & Mongolia program is funded by the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and implemented by Scope Global.

It is a multi-country program covering Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.


Australia Awards are provided to build the skills and knowledge of individuals so that they can contribute to their country's development and support the ongoing development of links between Australia and the countries to which it provides aid.

Australia Awards are an important part of the Australian Government's focus on public and economic diplomacy, and provide Scholarships, Short Courses, and other training opportunities.


About the opportunity

The Program Coordinator provides a comprehensive range of project coordination and support activities, including in the areas of project administration, operations, procurement and contracting.

The Program Coordinator will gain experience from exposure to a broad range of project activities, working within a fast-paced and dynamic role.

The position will work under guidance from an encouraging and supportive management team, and will take a lead role in strengthening policies, systems and processes on the program.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and grow.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare draft contracts for review by the Senior Program and Operations Manager;
  • Assist with Program contract records on SharePoint including generating agreement numbers, due diligence checks, ensuring supporting documentation and preparing contracts;
  • Coordinate procurement of short courses and other program related activities;
  • Track and monitor subcontract expenditure
  • Coordination of Program finance activities including coding payment requests, and assistance with administrative financial tasks, as requested by the Senior Program & Operations Manager.
*Support the Australia based Program team members in preparation and execution of Australia Awards events.

About you

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent onjob experience in procurement and demonstrated knowledge and experience in contracting, purchasing and tendering processes.
  • Experience (or a willingness to learn) in preparation of contracts and in support activities associated with procurement of goods or services.
  • Outstanding professional communication skills particularly around the negotiation of contracts and within a crosscultural context.
  • Demonstrated understanding of risk management principles and cost benefit analysis or a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to set priorities, analyse problems, formulate clear and effective solutions and coordinate a number of tasks simultaneously to achieve deadlines and meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Experience of working effectively and respectively in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to contribute ideas to enhance the role and to demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
