Evolution Mining were founded in late 2011 and have operations across Australia and Canada.


We currently operate five mines across NSW, QLD and WA and Red Lake, Ontario with a leadership team that continually focus on embedding a values driven culture aligned with our company vision to create a premier, global gold company.


Our Group operations are based in Sydney CBD providing support across all sites (including on site) in several key areas including our Sustainability team overseeing the Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Social Responsibility portfolio, positioning Evolution as a leader in sustainable and responsible mining activities.

About the role


As Group Manager - Social Responsibility and ESG Reporting, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of a comprehensive environmental, social responsibility and governance strategy, framework and risk management.

This is a key role in our strategy to protect and enhance Evolution Mining's reputation and social license and guide asset-specific plans.


Key result areas in this role include:

Identify and manage social responsibility risks, opportunities and evolving issues, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are developed and effectively implemented including managing and enhancing our ESG reporting framework to support Evolution Assets to comply with Evolution's Social Responsibility Performance Standards, legal and regulatory compliance and ESG reporting objectives.


Build strong internal and external partnerships to allow the business to effectively deliver sustainable outcomes for both Evolution and our local communities, leading and supporting external stakeholder negotiations, ensuring positive relationships maintained, outcomes deliver shared value, and alignment with Evolution's strategic objectives.


Participate in early planning stages for future projects (including ESH initiatives) and operations, ensuring knowledge transfer, positive early stakeholder engagement, and identification and management of social risks and other opportunities through to successful implementation., generating shared value.

Embed ESG standards as standard practice, including responsibility for the management of ESG ratings data collection and analysis and key SR/ESG documentation allowing for concise reporting on matters such as engagement initiatives, social responsibility key metrics, risk management and value generated.

Identify and implement Group Sustainability Projects and support sites to manage their community projects, resolve community issues, incidents and non-compliances with learnings shared and knowledge applied Define and manage a framework for prioritising and managing Evolution's Group sponsorships and donations, alongside representing and promoting Evolution at external forums and events.

Build capability through leadership of the Social Responsibility and ESG Community of Practice, collaborate to provide support and coaching role aligned with the ethos of sustainability integrated to everything we do.

Demonstrate and live behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining values (Safety, Accountability,

Excellence, Respect) and commit to maintaining health, safety, statutory, regulatory and licensing standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.

About you


In this key role, to be successful, you will hold a relevant degree (Communications/Social Sciences/Engineering/Similar), related post graduate qualifications and/or commensurate experience managing Social Responsibility and ESG at both Site and Corporate level.


You will need to demonstrate the below:

Natural affinity and competency in Stakeholders engagement: establishing and maintaining effective relationships internally and externally from Board to Site level, indigenous communities, industry working groups and forums alongside government organisations (State and Federal) in Australia (ideally with Canadian exposure).

High level written and presentation skills with specific focus on report preparation and input, providing strategic and technical advice on related matters and compliance issues and ensure functional activities align with operational/project priorities and risk profiles (e.g. business planning and evaluation, closure planning, project governance etc.)


Proven experience in establishing and maintaining effective business level Social Responsibility/ESG management systems and delivery of strategic goals and projects with extensive technical and applied knowledge across all aspects of environmental risk management in a dynamic organisation.

Collaborative, people-focussed leader with an innovative, problem-solving, outcome driven focus capable of communicating and presenting concepts in simple language to a wide audience
