Current opportunity:


Our Consulting team in Sydney is rapidly expanding and as a result we now have an opportunity for an experienced Manager and ESG professional.

This role will lead the delivery of projects from strategy through to execution and support the development and enhancement of tools, processes, and practices by bringing new ideas and thinking to the table.


BDO's Consulting team specialise in developing and executing innovative strategies and operational frameworks to help our clients realise their strategic ESG goals.

We offer clients a range of services which include, but are not limited to:

  • ESG Health Checks, Materiality, Frameworks & Reporting
  • Strategy and Transformation
  • GHG Accounting
This is a client-facing role utilising your consulting and ESG/sustainability expertise. You'll be managing individual and team workload, leveraging your leadership skills to help shape the future of our practice. You will work across a range of clients in both the public and private sectors.

Some examples of the types of projects that you will be part of include:

  • Developing strategies or delivering bespoke solutions to address client ESG opportunities and challenges.
  • Carrying out a Health Check to understand current state of an organisation.
  • Developing a client Strategy and Roadmap to be able to set and achieve organisational targets.
  • Developing sustainability reports for a multitude of different organisations.
  • Assisting an association to develop a holistic ESG Strategy and Roadmap for its members.
Supporting a government agency engage with stakeholders to develop solutions that support the circular economy.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Teamwork and managerial skills for orchestrating delivery of engagements and team resources.
  • Experience building new services, structures and delivering quality engagements.
  • Deep knowledge of the Strategy, Transformation, ESG and sustainability spaces and experience in delivering solutions for clients in response to these challenges.
  • Demonstrable experience and ability to work with all kinds of stakeholders (entry to Csuite level) across a broad range of clients.
  • Ability to challenge clients thoughtfully, while developing relationships to support their strategic ESG aspirations.
  • Ability to build internal rapport and relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative and innovative culture focused on developing strategic solutions that create long term value for clients.
