Infrastructure People are partnering with an Australian owned company that specialise in quarry operations, resource recycling and transport and logistics with operations running across NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD.


This company, that has been established for over 55 years, is going through a phase of expansion and are currently in the market for an Environment, Social & Governance Manager with a background in WHS to join their NSW Team based in Prestons.

Responsibilities of this varied role may include:

ESG Manager Aspects:

  • Coordinating the environment and social initiatives, and the compliance to law and regulatory requirements of the Group's operating locations
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring an ESMS, which will be implemented in all business areas, across all operational levels
  • Coordinating with the Group's E&S working groups in all business areas to ensure compliance with the ESMS Recommendation Report and reporting to the ESM Committee
  • Providing guidance and advice to the country HR teams on the requirements of implementing local E&S related laws and regulations and monitoring the compliance
  • Supporting the management in driving the education, communication, training, and implementation of the ESMS across the company in all operational areas, including its associated business activities, subcontractors and supply chains, where relevant.

Environmental, Health and Safety Aspects:

  • Developing and stewarding a robust suite of EHS related management systems in line with international standards and guidelines;
  • Providing safety practices and policy training to appropriate site, warehouse, laboratory and office personnel, ensuring relevant employees and contractors receive appropriate training;
  • Taking part in accident/incident investigation and carrying out analysis of statistics, suggesting improvement plans and reporting on any accidents/incidents
  • Conducting EHS operational audits, analysing EHS data and records to ensure the quality of implementation for the EHS management system

What you need to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor's degree graduate preferably in Environmental Science
  • A minimum of 5 years proven experience in a similar role
  • Operations background in Quarry, Mining, Waste Management, Landfills would be beneficial
  • Working knowledge in ESMS, ideally knowledge in Carbon Footprint Reduction, Environmental Discharges etc.
  • Experience implementing WHS programs including; managing emergency response incidents and leading WHS training
