We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team in Melbourne. As a Business Development Manager for Renewable Energy Projects, you will be responsible for driving business growth, building strategic partnerships, and spearheading the development of renewable energy projects in the region.



Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential renewable energy project opportunities.
  • Assess project feasibility, considering technical, financial, and regulatory aspects, to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends, policies, and regulations related to renewable energy to identify emerging opportunities and challenges.


Business Development and Partnership Building



  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, utilities, developers, and potential clients.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to secure new projects and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and submit proposals, bids, and tender documents for renewable energy projects.
  • Negotiate contracts, joint ventures, and strategic alliances to maximize business growth.


Project Management



  • Oversee the development and execution of renewable energy projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and operations, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Monitor project performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project progress and key milestones.


Preparing Information for Investment Committee



  • Gather and compile necessary information, data, and documentation required for investment committee reviews.
  • Prepare detailed project proposals, financial models, risk assessments, and market analyses to support investment decision-making.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive information is provided to the investment committee.


Qualifications and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in business development or project management within the renewable energy industry.
  • Strong understanding of the renewable energy market, including solar, wind, and energy storage technologies.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, and incentives related to renewable energy projects in Australia.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully securing and managing utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • In the application, candidates must provide a detailed list of utility-scale renewable projects they have been involved in, including project scale, technologies implemented, and their role in the projects.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative and a result-oriented mindset.
