As an authorized partner of a global leader in energy storage, our client specializes in the deployment of high-capacity Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for utility-scale applications.

They are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to join their team and drive the growth of their BESS business. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and managing key customer accounts. This role presents an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of clean energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Market Analysis and Strategy Development:

  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and potential customers for BESS solutions.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to drive sales growth and expand market presence in the renewable energy sector.

Stakeholder Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including utilities, developers, government agencies, and industry partners.

Lead Generation and Prospecting:

  • Generate leads and proactively identify new business opportunities through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events.

Proposal Development and Customization:

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and solutions that meet the specific needs of customers.

Contract Negotiation and Closure:

  • Lead contract negotiations and manage the sales process from initial contact to contract closure, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.

Sales Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on sales performance, pipeline development, and market insights.

Industry Awareness and Insight:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making and maintain a competitive edge.

Representational Duties:

  • Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and establish thought leadership in the BESS market.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize sales processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and maximize business impact.

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to align sales efforts with company objectives and foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or related roles within the renewable energy or energy storage industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and closing complex deals, preferably in the utility-scale energy storage sector.
  • Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
