ABOUT THE ROLE

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with implementation of recreation and open space strategies, policies, procedures, plans, studies, and guidelines
  • Assist with the development of strategic documents to guide the planning and development of open spaces and facilities
  • Undertake research and community consultation to assist with planning
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with relevant sections of the organization regarding recreation planning matters
  • Provide technical assistance and support for development of strategic planning documents
  • Provide timely and accurate advice to the stake holders
  • Responsible for the use of recreational spaces and facilities with environmentally sustainable design principles
  • Prepare and manage relevant project budgets within financial limits
  • Identify opportunities and potential impacts of social change on the provision of recreation facilities
  • Provide input to the annual operating plans for the recreation section
  • Liaise with government and nongovernment agencies, peak groups, special interest groups, industry associations and commercial organizations
- identify funding/resources and partnerships that further council's objectives

  • Support strategic recreational planning projects and multidisciplinary project and comply with legislation, awards and council's policies
  • Identify requirements for the development of specific plans of management for identified areas for council in accordance with policy and guidelines

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Double vaccination certificate
  • Driver's License
  • Relevant experience in planning and policy development
