Office of the Queensland Victims Commissioner; Portfolio Governance and Executive Services; Brisbane CBD The Victims' Commissioner together with the Sexual Violence Review Board (the Board) is established through the Victims' Commissioner and Sexual Violence Review Board Act 2024 (the Act).

The Manager, Sexual Violence Review Board is a newly created role to lead the establishment of the board and secretariat functions.

This is an opportunity to work with Queensland's first Victims' Commissioner in promoting and protecting the rights of victims of crime.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders and people with lived experience as victims of crime to support the Board in reviewing and identifying systemic issues relating to the reporting, investigation, and prosecution of sexual offences.

The Manager, Sexual Violence Review Board, along with the Principal Research and Policy Officer will lead the establishment of the Board chaired by the Victims' Commissioner under the Act and actively contribute to the Commissioner's broader policy and systemic review functions.

You will direct the work of the Board's Principal Research and Policy Officer, undertake research and analysis into systemic trends and patterns in the investigation, reporting and prosecution of sexual offences in Queensland and other jurisdictions and provide analysis of findings and potential recommendations.

You will work with board members to oversee governance processes involved in Board membership, its operations and secretariat responsibilities.
Working with a small collaborative team, your input will be valued in supporting the Board's functions to:

  • review government policy, practices, procedures and systems to identify systemic issues;
  • review and analyse data and information held by government entities and nongovernment entities;
  • make recommendations to the Minister, government entities and non-government entities about improvements to government policy, practices, procedures and systems as a result of a review carried out by the Board; and
  • monitor the implementation of recommendations.
