Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead our department's systematic and strategic approach to workplace violence and aggression risk management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework, providing strategic advice to executives and senior leaders, and building professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic approach to managing workplace violence and aggression, including training and capability development, and support mechanisms across the department.
  • Conduct high-priority risk assessments and manage the development of a departmental violence and aggression risk profile to guide the development of education, prevention, and support programs.
  • Oversee the development of a whole-of-department training framework to improve the safety capability to support both employees and meet the expectations of the community.
  • Provide specialist strategic advice to executives and senior leaders on the development and implementation of the department's controls and response to managing the risks of violence and aggression.
  • Provide consultancy services across the department on complex violence and aggression risk management matters, including contract negotiations and scoping relating to the engagement of external professionals engaged for the provision of risk management services to the department.
  • Build professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to influence a positive safety culture with a focus on managing the risk of violence and aggression.
  • Provide contemporary subject matter expertise in the development of policies, procedures, capability development programs, and other materials relating to violence and aggression risk management, with the view to continuous improvement.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Extensive experience in risk management, particularly in the area of workplace violence and aggression.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
