The Exciting Opportunity

An exciting full-time, fixed-term position is available at Cochlear for a Manager specializing in Finance Business Partnering for Global Strategic Marketing at our Macquarie office. In this role, the successful candidate will work with business stakeholders on strategic projects, providing forward-looking insights to shape and drive business outcomes, handling forecasting, budgeting, and month-end reporting, maintaining a strong control environment, and engaging in other ad hoc projects when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, ensuring financial accountability for business results, meeting business case targets, and enhancing financial knowledge across the business as needed.
  • Collaborate to support Product and Services Plan including new product launches, integrated business planning, and business cases to aid investment allocation and growth initiatives aligned with Cochlear's strategy.
  • Assist in establishing financial targets and developing profitable financial plans, evaluating the financial viability of strategic plans, creating business cases that underpin the strategic plans, conducting financial and risk analyses of the business environment.
  • Enhance the financial operating model for efficient delivery of relevant, compliant, accurate, and timely financial information (EOM, forecasts, budgets, etc.) and improve process capabilities using technologies (e.g., Oracle ERP, Hyperion Planning, etc.).
  • Examples include crafting the 5-year strategic plan, financial modeling to comprehend cost drivers, and developing business cases to optimize capital investments.
  • Ensure continual adherence to Group Finance policies and other relevant financial, corporate, and tax regulations.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects to support the Finance and GSM Leadership Teams.

Essential Criteria

Required Skills

  • Professional accounting qualifications or working towards certification (e.g., Chartered, CPA, or CIMA).
  • 5-10 years of commercial experience in a multinational setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial and business analysis within complex operating environments.
  • Proven track record in FP&A, encompassing budgeting/forecasts, management reports, and analytics.
  • Familiarity with project accounting environments.
  • Experience in designing and implementing policies, procedures, and process governance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Comfortable interacting with various stakeholders (SVPs, project managers, subject matter experts).
  • Solid skills in Microsoft Excel, meticulous attention to detail, and advanced financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experience with Tier 1 systems including ERP (Oracle or equivalent) and BI (Hyperion or equivalent).

Desirable Skills

  • Background in medical device manufacturing.
