The key duties of the position include The role Reporting to the Chief Human Resources (HR) Officer, and as the Director of HR Operations, you will lead the management of all HR operation functions, including workplace relations, pay and conditions, performance and conduct, wellbeing and rehabilitation, recruitment, learning and development, and entry programs.

Your role also involves developing strategies to enhance HR efficiency, collaborating and advising senior leadership to support and align HR initiatives with our organisational goals, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and policies while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and promoting employee wellbeing and engagement.

Success in this role requires on effective leadership, strategic thinking, and a commitment to driving positive organisational outcomes through HR operations.


In this role you will:

provide strategic leadership and operational management of the HR operation functions to ensure the delivery and continuous improvement of professional and effective servicesinterpret policies and relevant legislation, advise on HR matters, and provide advice and support across the organisation relating to the functions you leaddevelop and implement strategies to enhance HR operational efficiency and effectiveness, aligned with Geoscience Australia's objectiveslead and develop a team of HR professionals (approximately 12), fostering a culture of continuous improvementcollaborate with your HR executive level peers to ensure alignment between operational and strategic HR initiatives The successful candidate will need to: lead the embodiment of inclusive leadership, collaboration, and integrity apply strong judgement and be able to capitalise on innovative alternativesdemonstrate resilience and take personal accountability for the quality of advice and delivery of resultschallenge the status quo effectively and respectively.
