The Company
Our client is an international chemical supply chain management company with a presence in Australia and New Zealand. They are currently looking for a State Manager VIC to be based in Melbourne.

The Position
An exciting opportunity has become available for a dynamic State Manager VIC to drive the business growth in Melbourne. As the State Manager VIC, you will be responsible to lead the VIC warehousing teams to deliver business objectives/key performance indicators in accordance with the business plan and in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.

The Role
As the State Manager VIC, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading teams to deliver business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Monitor state performance and implement corrective action as required to ensure operational objectives are met.
  • Accountable for warehousing sites in VIC. Accountable for operational and financial performance
  • Prepare, monitor and review reports including revenue, costs, and P&Ls to ensure sites remain on track to meet financial objectives. Take corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure all practices and operations are performed as per company policies, procedures and legislative/industry requirements.
  • Ensure all staff are trained to an appropriate standard and hold necessary licenses and certificates to fulfil their role.
  • Monitor and manage performance objectives with direct reports including KPI checks and reviews and performance appraisals.
  • Taking responsibility for workplace health and safety issues of workplaces in consultation with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with company policy, legislative and certification
    requirements
  • Ensuring procedures and practices are performed/undertaken in accordance with the Company's Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensuring employees hold all necessary licences, certificates of competency and are adequately trained to carry out their work safely, efficiently, and effectively
  • Ensuring compliance with inspections, maintenance, and servicing in accordance with the Company QMS
  • Ensuring compliance with Company and regulatory storage requirements
  • Ensuring workplace health and safety compliance and issue management review/resolution for team members
  • Ensuring compliance with Company policy and legislative requirements including WH&S, fatigue management, NHVAS & or BFM standards and ISO requirements
  • Conducting and/or assisting in the conduct of risk assessments and the development of recommendations/mitigations in consultation with the Division WH&S lead
  • Ensuring the site Emergency Response Plan (ERP) is followed in the area of responsibility and participating in the plan as a senior manager for the warehousing function
  • Additional duties as required and as directed by management

The Candidate
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Understanding of safety and quality systems, and the implementation of continuous improvement processes
  • Demonstrated ability leading teams to deliver business objectives and key performance indicators (KPI's)
  • 5 years' management experience in a 3PL transport/ warehousing environment
  • Understanding of operational processes and ability to implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • High level of negotiation skills and focus on meeting customer requirements.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and review financial reports (revenue, costs, P&Ls) to ensure that financial objectives are met.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and legislative and industry requirements/standards.
  • Strong people management skills with a team-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated financial skills and the achievement of financial objectives
  • Understanding of HACCP principles
  • Ability to comply with Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
