**About the Role

The Own & Exclusive Brands Buyer is responsible for building and executing the sourcing strategy, developing appropriate sources of supply to support the category strategy in both sustainable supply and innovation.

The Own & Exclusive Brands Buyer is tasked with delivering a quality, sustainable, competitive cost for our Own & Exclusive products which in turn supports the category sales and profit metrics.

The Own & Exclusive Brands Buyer works with Commercial, WFC Portfolio Managers and Product Development teams to deliver the category strategy.

**Key responsibilities: - Build, review and refine sourcing strategies to deliver to the category strategy.

  • Net reduction in Cost of Goods in line with AOP to achieve Gross Profit targets.
  • Understand supply base capability and constantly scope the supplier landscape to identify opportunities and nurture supplier relationships which will deliver long term competitive advantage for Woolworths.
  • Negotiate and build contracts on existing & new products to reflect the sourcing strategy for the category.
  • Deliver COGS reductions.
  • Maintain and Update Competitor Pricing Analysis.
  • Maintain and Update Contract Review Schedule.
  • Monitor range KPIs to ensure supply continuity and contract volume consumption.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with supply expectations and targets.

**About You

**You will possess the following competencies: - Minimum of two years experience in a retail/commercial function at buyer or equivalent level ideally in Fresh Food or Food as a minimum

  • Prior experience in supplier development and procurement.
  • Strong understanding of product componentry and cost makeup of goods, as well as knowledge of manufacturing processes, and impact on cost of goods.
  • Knowledge of local and international sourcing processes and capabilities will be valuable.
  • Demonstrated track record in collaborating crossfunctionally and capability to deliver initiatives on time and to agreed metrics.
  • Sound project and organisational skills will underpin this.
  • Exceptional negotiation, judgement and are highly resilient able to flex and adapt as needed.
