Description

About the role


Due to internal promotion, we are looking for our next investigator to join our team here in the Claims Investigations division within the RACQ Counter Fraud and Investigation Unit.

Your role is to ensure that fraud investigations and breaches of policy conditions are carried out when required and in an appropriate manner.

At all times you will adhere to our members expectations and ensure we are meeting our obligations under the General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP) and ASIC expectations.


Your key duties will be to:

  • Investigate all issues and assess all evidence regarding the underwriting and the claims of all classes of Insurance in a manner consistent with the Investigation Standards, including Home, Motor and CTP insurance.
  • Compile reports and make recommendations on investigation outcomes for claims owners including recommendations for legal and underwriting action.
  • Identify and assess the risks that could prevent RACQ Insurance from achieving its strategies. Plan and execute risk mitigating procedures. On a regular basis, report and discuss the results of risk management performed within the department.
  • Ensure compliance with the RACQI Code of Conduct and other relevant acts and codes as applied throughout RACQ Insurance and RACQ Group e.g. General Insurance Code of Practice, National Privacy Principles and FSRA, APRA, ATO, ASIC, etc.

About you

  • At least 13 years' relevant experience, either industry or investigations experience
  • A strong understanding of the insurance industry, or willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of the Insurance Code of Practice and Policy principles
  • Sound knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of RACQ policies, processes and procedures
